These instructions guide members on installing the dedicated Gmail App, which is the recommended way to use the new club email on a smartphone.
The Gmail app also provides access to Google Chat (team messaging) and Google Meet (video meetings) features.
Follow these steps to set up your new @burtonleander.com email address on your smartphone or tablet.
The official Gmail App provides the best experience for your new club email.
iPhone/iPad (iOS)
Open the App Store.
Search for "Gmail".
Tap Get or the cloud icon to download the app.
Android Phone/Tablet
Open the Google Play Store.
Search for "Gmail".
Tap Install (The app may already be installed on your device).
Once the app is installed, you need to sign in with your club details.
Open the Gmail App on your device.
If you already use Gmail and are signed in to a personal email:
Tap your Profile Picture or Initial in the top-right corner.
Tap Add another account.
If this is your first time using the app:
Tap Sign in or Add an email address.
On the "Set up email" screen, select Google.
Enter your full new club email address: firstname.lastname@burtonleander.com
Example: john.smith@burtonleander.com
Tap Next.
Enter the Password you set during the initial account reset/activation.
Tap Next and accept the Terms of Service.
Your new club inbox will open automatically.
To switch between your personal email and your new club email:
Tap your Profile Picture or Initial in the top-right corner.
Select the account you want to view from the list.
If you prefer to manage your email using a separate email application like Apple Mail, you must set up the account as a Google account using the IMAP protocol.
General Setup for Local Clients (Apple Mail, Outlook, Samsung Email, etc.)
Open your Mail Application Settings
Go to the "Add Account" or "Accounts" section.
Select the option to add a Google or Gmail account (most modern clients have a dedicated option for this).
Enter your full new club email address:
firstname.lastname@burtonleander.com
You will be redirected to the secure Google sign-in page. Sign in using your password.
You will be prompted to grant the mail client permission to access your Google Mail account. Click Allow or Accept.
Note: Do NOT select POP3. For desktop clients, you should always choose IMAP to ensure your emails and folders sync correctly across your phone, laptop, and the web browser.
